2015 has been the year of travel for me, and I’m loving every minute of it!
I’ve been traveling quite a bit for work filming / photographing events, and heading to New York City for meetings. Last week I traveled to Portland Oregon, not for work but for a family trip with my Mum. My uncle and aunt live there and we had an amazing time in the land of the moss and the green! That’s what I kept calling it at least, but more on all of these travels later.
Here are a few of my favorite things around the web this week.
I’m a major BBC Radio 1 fan ( always have, always will) and this mashup has been on repeat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vARBXU59BPw
These packing cubes really have been a life saver for me. So easy to pack for multiple stops and different climates. When I flew into Philadelphia it was 90 but when I went to Portland it was in the 50’s.
Read Beautiful Ruins on my flight to the west coast, I can’t believe It took so long to read a book about Italy in the 60’s and Hollywood.
This has been the playlist I’ve been listening to constantly while in the air, or driving from place A to place B.
This pilot recounts every moment on his flight from London to Tokyo. Such an interesting read! ( Plus a great page layout)
Have a great weekend! I have a 3 day weekend and I couldn’t be more thrilled to relax, finish up my posts on Portland and head to the beach!
The Travel Playlist has returned! Here is what I’m listening to:
“Greyhound” by Swedish House Mafia: I am obsessed with this song. When I was on the bus on my way to Montreal, I swear this song was playing out perfectly to the ride. (I should note that I was on a Greyhound Bus, and due to the lack of sleep of that week, this was something the blew my mind!) This is a great get up and move song!
Here is what I am currently listening to as of today, 6 January, 2012. I word the title “Trip” because even though taking the train from Philadlphia to Vermont is a frequent occurrence, I still make new playlists and find new movies to watch. So without further ado here is what I am listening to!
I have always loved this electronic string quartet! I found them from watching Johnny English, and ever since them became their biggest fan! In high school, I convinced my color guard to create a performance to “Explosive”. They haven’t released an album since 2004, and I was very excited when I received their new album entitled “Play” for Christmas. Their past albums focused a lot on classical pieces with a touch of their own flair. Play has a lot more popular songs such as their rendition of “Bittersweet Symphony” and even The Black Eyed Peas’ “Pump It, but still has Vivaldi, and some of thier orignial work. Their album is not as strong as their past albums, but it is a great album to listen to, and a great way to start listening to them! Continue reading →
This is a lot like me. I have my journal our and my headphones in taking in what's around me
I love music, I am not a musician, I just love creating soundtracks and finding those moments when music synchs to my surroundings. I’ve been thinking about which songs I listen to the most when I travel, and these songs topped my ipod’s list! Some of these songs, well most, remind me of my time abroad. For instance, I was never really a Jack Johnson fan, but at the Rivoli Cinema Hostel ( which you will read about very shortly nudge, nudge ,wink ,wink) They played Jack Johnson’s album “In Between Dreams” so much that I now think of Portugal and how relaxing and great that trip was. So take a look, it’s really all over the place.
My Travel Playlist:
Sweet Disposition: Temper Trap (Listen to this on any train and you’ll see why, it just works! It might have something to do with the (500) Days of Summer scene.
